At
8:45pm, the fun began with the New Orleans zydeco sound of Sean Ardoin &
Zydekool. From the start of the show, almost everyone was up on the floor,
dancing to the hot zydeco rhythms of the funky accordion man & lead vocalist,
Sean Ardoin, who (by the way) spent most of his time walking through the crowd
(something I've never seen by any artist)!! Unfortunately, since I am not
familiar with any of Sean's work and did not see a song set list, I cannot
mention song titles....but most of the stuff is on the newest Zydekool release
"Strictly For The Dancers". Actually, it was interesting (and FUN) to
hear the band doing Andre 3000/Outkast's "Hey Ya!"

My biggest complaint
is that there wasn't any serious soloing from most of the band. For example,
the drumming wasn't anything spectacular......no serious soloing. The lead
guitar soloing was okay. If you place Lil' Brian & the Zydeco Travelers in
the same venue and paid them to jam, Lil Brian's guys would BLOW THESE GUYS OUT
OF THE WATER, especially Lil' Brian's drummer, Tony (that's a bad MF)!! The first set was over at 10:00pm.
