NAPPYHEAD FUNK ARMY

At the Sports Page Cafe - Lindenhurst, NY (Long Island) (12/28/02)

At 12:30am, the second set of the Nappyhead Funk Army show started with a new song called "God Gives You What You Need" (I assume that's the title!)....it was some great bass-driven funk (thanks to The General) with #9 on funky lead vocals!! "Cosmic Slop" started with the familiar drumlines from Ainsley "The Hat" Taylor.....the guitar power from Andy Lassalle and Groovalicious was very high (naturally!)

"Tear the Roof Off the Sucka" was the song that got the SIR NOSES off their asses and give up some of dat funk! It was the song where a clone of Dr. Funkenstein came out of the bathroom and joined the band on backing vocals and funky attitude (or FUNKITUDE, baby baba!!)!!!! "Up For the Downstroke" was s'more funky shit with the Dr. clone still doing his thang with the Nappyhead Funk Army!! The Pearl gave it up on some cosmic keyboard riffs!!

"Jungle Boogie" was a scorcher as every vocalist (#9, Red Hot and Eric-Jay) danced about and drew the audience into another realm of funkdom! "If Anybody Gets Funked Up (It's Gonna Be You)" was followed by "Pumpin' It Up/Atomic Dog" featured the sonic keyboard wizardry of Prez and The Pearl!! "Dirty Vamp" was followed by "It's What I Do, It's What I Am" which featured a super bass workout by The General!! "Bottoms Up" ended with a good portion of Bootsy's Rubber Band's "Rubber Duckie"!! "Red Hot Momma", "One Nation Under a Groove" and "Knee Deep" ended the funky show at 2:00am.
